THE STORY BEHIND JAIMIE

Born in Curaçao, Jaimie had a motorbike ready for him from the start. His father passed on his passion for motocross at an early age, and as a toddler, Jaimie often sat at the front of the quad. When he was three years old, the family moved back to the Netherlands, where he competed in his first motocross race at the age of five.

At eight years old, he earned NOC*NSF status and trained daily after school. From the age of ten, he started racing abroad, where he also claimed the MX California State Winter Series title.

Injuries, such as a torn liver and fractured vertebrae, didn’t hold him back. “When will I be fit enough to ride again?” was the first question he asked the doctors. He then made the switch to Supermoto, winning every race in his first year.

With great determination, Jaimie competed in national and European Supermoto championships, representing the Netherlands three times in the Supermoto of Nations World Championship as the youngest participant ever. In 2014, he transitioned to road racing through the European Junior Cup, where he immediately finished in the top 10.

In 2016, Jaimie competed in his first Supersport 600 season, winning races and finishing 3rd in the Dutch Championship. This was followed by three years in the World Supersport 600 World Championship, which brought both successes and challenges, including multiple knee surgeries. In 2020, he underwent a major surgery to rotate both legs by 15 degrees to reduce the strain on his knees during racing. This marked a significant shift toward the British Supersport Championship with their own MPM ROUTZ racing team, where he had a strong rookie year, earning a podium finish.

In mid-2022, he unexpectedly received the news that an aggressive form of cancer had been discovered beneath his chest. However, he decided not to let the illness take away his sport and postponed the surgery until after his final race. With this mental shift, he ended the season with seven podium finishes, including a victory in the highly competitive British Supersport 600. After a tough recovery, he returned strong to the track in 2023.

In 2024, Jaimie got the opportunity to compete in the elite Superbike class with TAG Honda, making him the first Dutch rider ever to complete a full season in this class. He started off strong, but unfortunately had to undergo two knee surgeries midway through the season to finally rid himself of this curse. Yet, he remains determined: “In 2025, we’ll give it everything we’ve got again, and I can’t wait!”
